Pastoral and Agro-Pastoral Research Organization (PARO) is the centre for academic excellent, research and development which is a Somali initiative as a non-governmental, non-partisan, and professional organization committed that offers capacity building and consultancy services for local communities and individuals, with a special focus on pastoral and agro-pastoral programs. It was also established to make a meaningful impact on the agriculture and livestock problems, both technical and professional inadequacy.
The Path Forward
OUR STORY
Pastoral and Agro-Pastoral Research Organization (PARO) was informally formed in mid-2020 and was officially registered in 2023. The current board members have diverse professional backgrounds that include academicians, professional technocrats, legal experts, and community leaders among others. Together, these individuals bring decades of individual and collective professional experience to PARO organization, thus enabling PARO to work effectively in the areas of capacity building, research, assessment and evaluations. Furthermore, our scope of operation includes support agricultural production, livestock health and production through community-based approaches.
